New Delhi, March 21, 2024: The Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) is inviting applications for its research and Ph.D. program, offering exciting opportunities in various fields of astrophysics. The application window for the IIA Ph.D. program is open until April 30. Candidates can apply on the official website at acsir.res.in/admissions.
The IIA offers research programs in diverse fields such as solar system objects, stellar physics, interstellar medium, compact objects, and more. A registration fee of Rs 1,000 is applicable, while candidates from SC, ST, and PwD categories need to pay Rs 500.
Interviews and tests for admission will be conducted from May 20 to July 5. The result will be declared on July 12, and classes are scheduled to commence in August.
Candidates should hold an MSc or Integrated MSc in relevant disciplines such as Physics, Applied Mathematics, Astronomy, Electronics, etc. Those with ME or MTech and Integrated ME or MTech in related fields can also apply. MPhil graduates in relevant subjects are eligible too.
Selected candidates will initially receive a junior research fellowship (JRF), which may lead to a senior research fellowship (SRF) after two years, subject to assessment. The fellowship tenure, including coursework, may not exceed five years.

2. Access the AcSIR online admission portal and sign up as a new user.
3. Complete the application form with relevant details.
4. Login using your email and password, enter the necessary information, and submit the fee.
5. Download and save the application form for future reference.
