Dalit Boy Assaulted, Scorpion Placed In Pants By TeachersNewsIMTS

Three government school teachers in Shimla were booked for repeatedly assaulting an eight-year-old Dalit boy and placing a scorpion in his pants. Headmaster Devendra and teachers Babu Ram and Kritika Thakur allegedly physically abused the Class 1 student at Government Primary School in Khaddapani area of Rohru for almost a year. The assault damaged the child's eardrum and caused bleeding. Police registered a case on 3 November this year under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Juvenile Justice Act, and SC/ST Act. The boy's father alleged the teachers threatened to expel his son and warned the family against reporting the incident. The complaint also mentioned caste discrimination at the school, where Nepali and Harijan students were reportedly made to sit separately from Rajput students during meals. This follows other recent incidents of student abuse in Rohru, including a teacher's suspension for beating a student with a prickly bush. (Updated 2 Nov 2025, 19:22 IST; source: link)
