IIT Roorkee has officially launched the COAP 2026 portal at coap2026.iitr.ac.in for GATE-qualified candidates seeking MTech admissions at IITs and IISc. Registration is expected to open after March 24, 2026. Over 24 participating institutes will upload admission offers through this platform.
GATE COAP 2026 Launched: IIT Roorkee Opens Portal for MTech Admission — Registration, Schedule, and How to Apply
Following the GATE 2026 result declaration on March 19, IIT Roorkee has activated the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) website. Candidates holding valid GATE scores from 2024, 2025, or 2026 can participate. COAP is an offer management platform, not an application portal. Students must apply to each IIT separately.

- NPCIL (PSU) also participates for job recruitment through GATE
- COAP is managed by IIT Roorkee for the 2026 cycle
- Separate CCMT counselling for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs
Eligibility Criteria
- Valid GATE score from 2024, 2025, or 2026
- Must be an Indian national
- Must meet institute-specific eligibility for chosen programme
- Candidates with multiple GATE scores must enter the highest score during registration
How to Register for COAP 2026
Step 1: Visit the official COAP portal: coap2026.iitr.ac.in
Step 2: Click on Register and fill in GATE details, personal information
Step 3: Receive login credentials via email and SMS
Step 4: Also apply separately to each desired IIT through their individual portals
Step 5: Log in during offer rounds to accept, retain, or reject offers
