The Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate programmes is currently being conducted across multiple cities in India. The NTA began the CUET UG 2026 examination on May 11, and it will continue until May 31, 2026. Over 9 lakh candidates have registered for the exam this year, making it one of the largest undergraduate entrance tests in the country.

This year, the NTA has reduced the number of domain subjects from 27 to 23. Subjects like Entrepreneurship and Performing Arts have been removed, and admissions for those will be handled through the General Aptitude Test instead. In a significant change, students can now choose subjects they did not study in Class 12, offering greater flexibility in course selection. The marking scheme awards 5 marks for each correct answer and deducts 1 mark for each wrong answer.

The NTA earlier released a dress code advisory for candidates appearing at exam centres. Students are advised to carry only their admit card, a valid photo ID, and essential stationery. The admit cards have been released and can be downloaded from cuet.nta.nic.in. According to NTA data, 96.6 percent of candidates were allotted their preferred exam city.

Students still scheduled to appear should verify their exam date, shift, and centre details on their admit card carefully.

Important Update: CUET UG 2026 exams are ongoing from May 11 to May 31, 2026. Domain subjects reduced from 27 to 23. Students can now choose subjects not studied in Class 12.
