Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on May 27, 2026, held a high-level meeting with senior officials of State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, and Indian Bank to revamp the CBSE payment gateway system. The meeting focused on improving the reliability and efficiency of digital payments linked to post-result services such as re-evaluation requests and answer sheet photocopies.
The minister directed the banks to establish systems for immediate resolution of payment-related complaints and introduce automatic refunds for failed or excess payments. He stressed the need for advanced technical safeguards, real-time monitoring, and faster grievance redressal to prevent the kind of payment failures and portal crashes students have faced this year.
The banks assured the Ministry of full cooperation and committed to implementing enhanced protocols at the earliest. This meeting follows an earlier discussion between Pradhan and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on May 24, 2026, on the same subject. The Centre is clearly signalling that digital infrastructure supporting examination services must be upgraded significantly before the next academic cycle.
