IIT JAM 2027 registration deadline: The application deadline for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027 has been extended. Originally set to close on October 12, the JAM 2027 registration window will now close on October 19, giving aspirants an extra week to complete their applications.

What This Extension Covers?

This additional week gives candidates more time to apply for the 89 postgraduate programmes in science and related disciplines offered across 23 IITs for the academic year 2027-28.

Exam Mode and Paper Combinations

The examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Candidates have the option to appear for one or two test papers, subject to the prescribed combination and payment of an additional fee for the second paper.

IIT JAM 2027: Papers Offered

JAM 2027 will be conducted across seven test papers:

2. Chemistry
3. Economics
4. Geology
5. Mathematics
6. Mathematical Statistics
7. Physics

Candidates can apply for up to two test papers, provided the selected papers are scheduled in different sessions on exam day.

Application Fee Structure

The fee varies depending on the number of papers and the candidate’s category:

For one test paper:

• Rs 1,000 — Female candidates, and candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories
• Rs 2,000 — All other candidates

For two test papers:

• Rs 1,350 — Female candidates, and candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories
• Rs 2,700 — All other candidates
