Mumbai University and affiliated colleges in Maharashtra have released the First Year Junior College (FYJC) 2026 first merit list on 31 May 2026, opening the Class 11 admission process for thousands of Class 10 students across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Students who appeared for the SSC (Class 10) Maharashtra Board exams can now check their allotment status through the centralized admission portal.
The Maharashtra FYJC 2026 centralised admission process (CAP) is managed by the state’s School Education Department. The first merit list covers allotments to junior colleges across Arts, Science, and Commerce streams in Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, and surrounding areas.

- Enter your seat number and date of birth
- Check your allotted college and stream
- Download the allotment letter for record
Important Dates for FYJC 2026 Admission
- First merit list: Released May 31, 2026
- Admission confirmation: Students allotted in Round 1 must confirm admission at the college within the specified window to hold their seat
- Second merit list: Expected after the first round confirmation period closes
Students who were not allotted their preferred college in the first list can participate in subsequent rounds. The Maharashtra government had also recently directed all vocational and professional colleges to strictly follow fee structures approved by the Fee Regulatory Authority (FRA), warning that overcharging will be treated as an offence under the Maharashtra Private Professional Educational Institutions Act, 2015.
Students and parents in Mumbai should verify the allotted college’s recognition status, available facilities, and faculty strength before confirming admission in the first round.
