UPTAC 2026 Round 1 Registration: Big news for all engineering aspirants in Uttar Pradesh! If you have not yet completed your counselling form, here is your second chance. AKTU has extended the UPTAC 2026 counselling registration deadline to June 22, 2026. The UPTAC counselling 2026 registration link has been updated on the official website, uptac.samarth.edu.in.
This extension is a major relief for students who were still arranging their documents or facing technical issues on the portal. However, students must act fast because this is the final window — and missing it means losing the chance to participate in any counselling round this year.

What Is UPTAC and Why Does It Matter?
UPTAC stands for Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling. It is the official process through which students can get admission to B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Pharma, and other technical courses in colleges under Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) across Uttar Pradesh. AKTU conducts UPTAC counselling for admission to various first-year and second-year UG courses offered by all institutions affiliated to or constituent of AKTU and other state universities. Admission to various courses is based on national-level entrance exam scores like JEE Main, CUET UG/PG, and NATA.
With over 87,000 seats available across AKTU-affiliated colleges, UPTAC 2026 Round 1 registration is the gateway to a technical education for thousands of students in Uttar Pradesh and beyond.
Why Is the Deadline Being Extended?
The original UPTAC 2026 Round 1 registration deadline was June 15, 2026. The extension to June 22 gives students a few more days to complete the process. One very critical point that every student must understand is that registration is not allowed in Round 2, Round 3, and Round 4. Candidates must complete all registration formalities within the specified deadline. So this extended deadline is truly the last and only chance to register for the entire UPTAC 2026 counselling process.
Documents Required for UPTAC 2026 Round 1 Registration
Before sitting down to fill out the form, students must keep all their documents ready in digital format. You need your JEE Main 2026 scorecard and admit card, Class 10 and 12 marksheets and passing certificates, a passport-size photograph, signature on white paper, and a character certificate. Category-specific documents such as OBC, SC, ST, and EWS certificates and domicile certificates are additionally required for reserved-category and UP-priority candidates.
The required documents for UPTAC 2026 Round 1 Registration counselling include mark sheets, certificates, scorecards, category certificates if applicable, domicile certificates, and photo identification proof.
A very important tip — you must keep all the required documents in soft copy format, such as PDF or JPEG, before starting the registration. Missing or incorrect documents are the most common reason for rejection during verification. Photographs and signatures should be in JPG/JPEG format. Marksheets and certificates can be in PDF or JPG format.
Document Verification Deadline
Students must also note that online document verification has a separate deadline. Document verification runs from May 28 to June 20, 2026. The Central Document Verification Team reviews all uploaded files online. You don’t need to go anywhere — it is fully online at this stage. If documents are flagged or rejected, the portal shows the reason, and you get a correction window before June 20 to re-upload. Students who are not verified by June 20 are locked out of choice filling and cannot participate in any round of UPTAC 2026.
Registration Fee and Seat Confirmation Fee
The UPTAC 2026 Round 1 Registration counselling fee is Rs. 1,000, which is non-refundable. The seat allotment will be based on merit, choice filling, and availability of seats. After seat allotment, the confirmation fee is Rs. 20,000 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates and Rs. 12,000 for SC and ST candidates.
What Happens After Registration — Key Dates
Once the UPTAC 2026 Round 1 registration is done, students must follow the next steps carefully. Online choice filling and locking for Round 1 will be held from June 22 to June 25, 2026. Candidates must fill their preferred colleges and branches in order of preference. Choices must be locked before the deadline to participate in seat allotment. After locking, choices cannot be changed in Round 1.
Seat allotment for Round 1 will be announced on June 27, 2026. Candidates must pay the seat confirmation fee of INR 20,000 or INR 12,000 between June 27 and June 29, 2026.
Candidates are permitted to list an unlimited number of college and branch combinations based on their eligibility and rank. The system assigns seats automatically based on merit and the order of these preferences, so applicants must carefully prioritise their selections.
All students who have yet to complete their UPTAC 2026 Round 1 registration must visit the official portal, uptac.samarth.edu.in, immediately and register before June 22, 2026. Do not delay — this opportunity will not come again.
