The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, will conduct the FTII JET Stage 1 Re-Examination 2026 on 12 July 2026, and the institute has issued a fresh notice listing items that are strictly banned inside exam centres. The re-examination, held for all candidates who had registered for the original written test on 26 April 2026, does not require any fresh registration, application, or additional fee. Candidates must instead focus on complying with the newly released prohibited items list to avoid any last-minute complications on exam day.
Why FTII JET Stage 1 Is Being Re-Conducted
The original Stage 1 written test was cancelled by FTII after operational disruptions were reported at certain examination centres, including Delhi. Following a review of the exam’s conduct, the institute decided to re-hold the full written test for all candidates nationally to ensure fairness. This makes the FTII JET Stage 1 Re-Examination 2026 a mandatory attempt for every previously registered candidate, regardless of whether their original centre faced disruptions.

List of Prohibited Items at FTII Exam Centres
As per the official notice, the following items are strictly not allowed inside the examination centre:
- Mobile phone
- Bluetooth device
- Earbuds or any other electronic devices/gadgets/equipment
- Digital or smartwatch
- Bag or handbag
- Papers, notes, or books
- Calculator
- Correction marker or white fluid
FTII has clarified that no storage arrangement will be provided at the centre for these items, and neither the exam centre nor the institute will be responsible for any loss if candidates choose to carry them anyway.
Exam Day Precautions Candidates Should Take
Given the strict “no safekeeping” policy, candidates appearing for the FTII JET Stage 1 Re-Examination 2026 are strongly advised to leave all prohibited items at home or make their own private arrangements outside the centre entirely at their own risk.
Along with avoiding the banned items, candidates must carry their admit card and a valid photo ID proof to gain entry. Since Stage 1 carries 25% weightage in the overall selection process and determines eligibility for the Mixed Format Assessment (Stage 2) at the FTII Pune campus, candidates are encouraged to reach their allotted centre well ahead of the reporting time and review the complete exam-day guidelines on the official website beforehand.
