The CBSE Class 10 Second Board Result 2026 is expected to be declared anytime soon, with students who appeared for the second attempt awaiting their final scorecard on the official portal, cbseresults.nic.in. The Class 10 Phase 2 examination was conducted from 15 May to 21 June 2026, and according to the latest updates as of 11 July 2026, the result link is yet to be activated, though CBSE is expected to announce it in the coming days.
Why the Second Board Exam Was Held
The CBSE second board exam was introduced under the NEP 2020 framework as a dual-examination system, giving students a chance to improve their Phase 1 performance. Over 6 lakh students participated in this cycle, of which more than 5 lakh candidates appeared to improve their marks, while over 80,000 students appeared under the compartment category. Only those who had already appeared in the first board exam were eligible to sit for this second attempt.

How Marks Will Be Calculated
CBSE has confirmed that the second board result 2026 will be prepared strictly on the ‘better of the two’ principle — meaning students will be awarded whichever score is higher between their Phase 1 and Phase 2 attempts. To qualify, students needed a minimum of 33% overall, comprising at least 27 out of 80 marks in theory and 7 out of 20 in internal assessment. For context, the Phase 1 result recorded an overall pass percentage of 93.70%, with girls outperforming boys at 94.99% against 92.69%.
