DASA UG 2026 registration opened today, 28 July 2026, at 10 am, giving Foreign Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, and PIOs their window to apply for 15% supernumerary seats in engineering, architecture, and planning programmes at NITs, IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, GFTIs, and other centrally funded technical institutes. Admission under this scheme is based on a candidate’s JEE Main 2026 performance rather than a separate entrance test, and the registration window will remain open until 3 August 2026.

Who Can Apply Under DASA UG 2026
Eligibility extends to Indian nationals studying abroad, foreign nationals, NRIs, and OCI/PIO cardholders who have appeared for JEE Main 2026. Candidates due to sit for their Class XII examinations in 2026 may also apply, provided their results are declared by 30 September 2026. There is no separate qualifying exam beyond JEE Main; seat allotment runs purely on the candidate’s rank in that test, so applicants who have not yet registered for JEE Main cannot proceed with this counselling round.
How the Registration Process Works
Candidates log in using their JEE Main 2026 application number and date of birth, after which a confirmation link is emailed to the address registered with JEE Main. Once logged in, the form asks for personal and academic details, followed by uploads of a passport-size photograph and a scanned signature in the specified format. After submitting the form and paying the fee, candidates proceed to choice filling, where institutes and programmes must be ranked in order of preference before the DASA counselling process locks each round.
Fees and Documents to Keep Ready
The DASA UG 2026 Enrolment Fee includes a non-refundable USD 300 registration charge along with the first semester’s tuition fee at the allotted institute. Applicants should keep scanned copies ready of their JEE Main 2026 scorecard, OCI/PIO card (where applicable), proof of NRI status such as an employment certificate or visa, a migration certificate from their last institution, and an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities if their Class XII qualification is from a foreign board. A financial support affidavit and anti-ragging affidavits, as per UGC norms, are also mandatory uploads.
