CEED 2027 registration:The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has opened the registration portal for the Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) 2027. According to the official announcement, online registration with the regular fee will be held from October 1 to October 31, 2026.
Late Fee Window
Candidates who miss the regular deadline can still submit their application, along with a late fee, from November 1 to 6, 2026, till 5 pm, giving a short additional window for latecomers to apply.
CEED 2027 Exam Date
IIT Bombay is set to conduct the design entrance exam for admission to MDes and PhD programmes on January 17, 2027, from 9 am to 12 pm.
Admit Card Release
After successful submission of application forms, candidates will be able to download their CEED exam admit cards from January 1, 2027, giving roughly a two-week gap between admit card release and the exam date.

Sharing the update via a post on X, the institute stated:
“Applications are invited for Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) for admission to MDes & PhD Programmes at several IITs, Design Schools and result sharing Institutes.”
The institute further noted that students with an interest in design, along with an aptitude for creativity, visualisation, and problem solving, are encouraged to apply — signalling that the exam is designed to assess a specific blend of creative and analytical skills rather than purely academic knowledge.

Where a CEED Score Can Be Used?
Candidates who qualify CEED become eligible to apply for MDes and PhD programmes at various participating institutes, including several IITs and other design schools that accept the CEED score for admission.
