February 8th, 2024, New Delhi: The Directorate of Education, Delhi has released guidelines for admission into Classes 6 and 9 in state government schools for the academic year 2024-25 under the Plan Admission scheme.
The admission process will commence on April 1st, 2024, and conclude on May 10th as per the circular.
Delhi Govt School Admission: Key Details
- Applicable for Classes 6 and 9

- Mapping feeder schools to parent schools by Feb 19th
- Feeder schools to provide student data by Feb 29th
Under the scheme, students of feeder schools like MCD schools, private schools, etc can seek admission in nearby parent government schools in a smooth transition.
Delhi Govt School Admission: Required Documents
- Student photograph
- Residence proof
- Aadhaar (optional)
- Bank details (optional)
- Caste certificate if eligible
By February 12th, all feeder schools must enter data in the online module. Nominated student details should be shared with parent schools before February month end.
From April, parents have to meet the heads of allotted parent schools for admission formalities as per the mapped feeder-parent linkages.
This streamlined admission process aids continued public education at nominal costs for Classes 6 and 9 entrants.
