New Delhi, April 5, 2024 – The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) has announced the opening of applications for the eighth edition of the IET India Scholarship Award 2024. This prestigious scholarship program aims to recognize and support the next generation of engineering leaders in India.
The IET will be offering scholarships worth Rs 10 lakh to students pursuing higher studies in AICTE or UGC-approved institutes. Interested candidates can apply for the scholarship on the official website, scholarships.theietevents.com, until May 31, 2024.
Key highlights of the IET India Scholarship Award 2024:
1. Eligibility: Students who have cleared all courses in a single attempt and have secured at least 60% aggregate marks or a CGPA of 6.0 (on a 10-point scale) in their undergraduate programs are eligible to apply.
2. Evaluation Criteria: Applicants will be evaluated based on their academic performance, extracurricular activities, range of outreach activities, and their ability to present creative engineering solutions to solve societal challenges.
3. Selection Process:
- Shortlist candidates based on academic performance and extracurricular activities.
- Online tests on STEM subjects and technical expertise.
- Regional rounds where shortlisted candidates will present their technological solutions to pertinent societal challenges.
- National finals where regional winners will compete for the IET India Scholarship Award 2024.
4. Timeline:
- Application deadline: May 31, 2024
- Announcement of shortlisted candidates: June 26-28, 2024
- IET scholarship exam: July 3-5, 2024
- Regional rounds: July-August 2024
- Announcement of winners: September 2, 2024
