India Post GDS Recruitment: India Post has started the Gramin Dak Seval (GDS) Recruitment 2026 and is inviting online applications for 28,740 vacancies across the different states in the country. This recruitment drive is considered as one of the largest government job opportunities offered by the Postal Department in recent years. It is mainly important for candidates who are looking for a permanent government job after 10th grade. There is no written exam required for selection.
The Department of Posts released the official recruitment notification to inform candidates about the eligibility criteria, selection process, important dates, and vacancy details. It also opened the online registration process from 31 January 2026. Those who are interested, are requested to submit their applications within the given deadline.

Who Can Apply for India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 ?
- Applicants who have passed Class 10 (SSC/Matric) from a recognized board.
- Who has studied Mathematics and English in Class 10.
- Applicants between 18 and 40 years of age (age relaxations apply for reserved categories as per government rules).
- Having the basic knowledge of the local language of the postal circle is required. .
There is no written exam or interview and the selection is done through a merit list based on Class 10 marks.

The salary depends on the position:
- BPM (Branch Postmaster): INR 26,000 to INR 30,000 per month
- ABPM / GDS: INR 22,000 to INR 28,470 per month
