On January 29, 2024 in New Delhi, India – The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has cancelled the general knowledge exam conducted during the third shift on January 28, 2024 for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) recruitment. This decision followed allegations of the exam paper being leaked. Around 54,300 candidates appeared across 108 centers in Ranchi.
JSSC’s notification stated the new exam date will be announced on jssc.nic.in. The cancelled paper was part of the drive to fill 2,027 JSSC CGL vacancies. Candidates in Ranchi protested outside the state library claiming answers circulated on WhatsApp on January 28 evening. Former Jharkhand CM Babulal Marandi, heading BJP in the state, accused the administration of playing with youth expectations and demanded a CBI probe.
Reports state that some students released their answer sheets via social media and WhatsApp. This high-profile alleged JSSC CGL paper leak has become a major controversy in Jharkhand. The investigation and action taken will be closely watched. The cancellation has serious impact on aspirants’ preparations and the government’s image.
