March 13, 2024, New Delhi: Indira IVF has received accreditation from the National Board of Examinations (NBE) of India for its Fellowship of the National Board (FNB) in reproductive medicine course. The certification has been awarded to its hospitals in Udaipur and Pune for four and two seats, respectively. The initiative aims to address the growing demand for qualified fertility specialists in the country.
Course Details:
Eligibility: Medical graduates with a DNB or MS degree in obstetrics and gynaecology are eligible for the qualifying exam. Successful candidates are assigned seats at NBE-accredited medical institutions, institutes, or hospitals.
Duration: The FNB course in reproductive medicine spans two years and includes theoretical, clinical, practical, and symposium formats. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, ensuring participants acquire comprehensive knowledge, skills, and research methodologies.
Significance:
The FNB course is renowned for maintaining high standards of competence and expertise among reproductive medicine professionals.
The initiative aims to train 100 FNB candidates over the next five years, contributing to the fulfilment of the country’s demand for fertility specialists.
Indira Fertility Academy:
Indira IVF’s academic arm, Indira Fertility Academy (IFA), has already trained numerous andrology technicians, embryologists, and fertility experts.
It plans to train an additional 300 to 350 fertility experts over the next five years to meet the rising demand for assisted reproductive technology treatments.

Nitiz Murdia, Managing Director and Co-founder of Indira IVF expressed gratitude for receiving accreditation from the National Board of Examinations. He highlighted the importance of providing technologically advanced treatment to patients and emphasized the need for training specialists to meet the increasing demand for IVF treatment in the country.
Murdia also noted that while there are currently 1,950 gynaecologists performing IVF treatment in India, there will be a need for 1.5-2 times more specialists by 2028. He sees potential in training the existing pool of over 35,000 gynaecologists to address this demand.
The accreditation marks a significant step towards enhancing reproductive healthcare services in India and training a new generation of fertility specialists to cater to the growing needs of the population.
