NEET PG 2024: In a development causing anxiety among nearly 2 lakh medical aspirants, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) has abruptly suspended its two main websites – nbe.edu.in and natboard.edu.in – from January 9th onwards.
Responsible for conducting India’s medical entrance exam NEET PG which selects candidates for postgraduate medical admissions, NBE’s latest move has sparked massive speculations and uncertainty regarding the conduct of NEET PG 2024 exam itself.
NEET PG is the foremost eligibility-cum-ranking examination taken by close to 1.8 lakh medical graduates annually for admission into coveted PG seats across India offering specializations. As per past scheduling precedents, NBE websites beginning NEET PG registrations in January and releasing admit cards in February for the exam held in March/April yearly.
However, with NBE websites going non-functional unexpectedly sans any official notification on NEET PG 2024 fate, distressed aspirants anticipating exam dates are now left completely confused midway through preparations. Speculations are rife about NBE merging with the National Testing Agency (NTA) – which holds NEET UG exam. But lack of NBE or Health Ministry clarification so far on this key exam’s schedule has sparked deep anxiety among medical students keenly awaiting the next NEET PG cycle.
