NEET UG 2026 Registration LIVE: NTA Opens Application Portal with New eKYC Rules at @neet.nta.nic.in

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the NEET UG 2026 registration portal today, February 8, 2026. Medical aspirants can now apply for the undergraduate entrance examination through the official website at neet.nta.nic.in. The last date to complete the application process is March 8, 2026.

This year, NTA has introduced strict security measures including mandatory Aadhaar-based eKYC verification and live photograph capture to prevent impersonation and ensure the integrity of the examination process.

What’s New in NEET UG 2026?

NTA has introduced several new security measures for NEET 2026 to ensure a fair and transparent examination process:

1. Mandatory Aadhaar eKYC Verification

All candidates must complete Aadhaar-based eKYC verification during the registration process. The mobile number linked to the candidate’s Aadhaar will be used for real-time identity verification.

2. Live Photograph Capture

Candidates are required to capture a live photograph using a webcam or mobile camera during the application process. This image will be used for verification at the examination centre.

3. Strict Image Specifications

  • The candidate’s face must cover 80% of the frame
  • No caps, goggles, or tinted spectacles are allowed
  • The background must be plain white
  • The photograph must be recent and clear

4. Enhanced Security Protocols

Only one application form per candidate is permitted. Duplicate applications will be rejected, and strict action will be taken against candidates found violating this rule.

NEET UG 2026: Application Fee Structure

The application fee must be paid online through Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI.

NEET UG 2026: How to Apply Online

Candidates can complete the NEET UG 2026 registration by following these steps:

Step 1: Visit the official website of NTA NEET at neet.nta.nic.in

Step 2: Click on the “NEET UG 2026 Registration” link available on the home page

Step 3: Click on “New Registration” and enter basic details including name, date of birth, and mobile number

Step 4: An Application Number will be generated. Note it down for future reference

Step 5: Complete the Aadhaar eKYC verification using your Aadhaar-linked mobile number

Step 6: Login using the Application Number and Password

Step 7: Fill in the application form with personal, academic, and contact details

Step 8: Choose three preferred exam cities in order of priority

Step 9: Upload scanned documents including photograph, signature, and certificates in the prescribed format

Step 10: Capture a live photograph using webcam or mobile camera as per the specifications

Step 11: Pay the application fee through Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI

Step 12: Review all details carefully and click on “Submit”

Step 13: Download and save the Confirmation Page for future reference

NEET UG 2026: Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: Candidates must have completed 17 years as on December 31, 2026
  • Maximum Age: There is no upper age limit for NEET UG

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English
  • Minimum marks required:
    • General/EWS: 50%
    • OBC-NCL: 40%
    • SC/ST/PwBD: 40%

  • Indian Nationals
  • NRIs
  • OCIs
  • PIOs
  • Foreign Nationals

NEET UG 2026: Documents Required

Candidates must keep the following documents ready in scanned format before starting the application process:

  • Class 10 Certificate (for Date of Birth proof)
  • Class 12 Certificate or Marksheet
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • PwBD Certificate (if applicable)
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Recent Passport Size Photograph (File size: 10 KB to 200 KB; Format: JPG/JPEG)
  • Scanned Signature (File size: 4 KB to 30 KB; Format: JPG/JPEG)

Important: The photograph must be recent and the candidate’s face should cover 80% of the frame. No caps, goggles, or accessories are allowed.

NEET UG 2026: Correction Window

The correction window will open on March 10, 2026 and will close on March 12, 2026. Candidates will be able to make corrections to the following details:

  • Personal details (Name, Date of Birth, Gender)
  • Academic details (Category, Sub-category)
  • Exam city preferences
  • Upload corrected documents (Photograph, Signature)

Note: Candidates will be allowed to make corrections only once during the correction window. No further changes will be permitted after the correction window closes.

Important Instructions for NEET UG 2026

  • Only one application form is allowed per candidate. Multiple applications will lead to rejection.
  • Candidates must ensure that their mobile number is linked to Aadhaar for eKYC verification.
  • The live photograph captured during registration will be matched with the candidate’s appearance at the exam centre.
  • Candidates must verify all details carefully before final submission as changes will be allowed only during the correction window.
  • The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • Candidates are advised to download and save the Confirmation Page for future reference.
  • Admit cards will be released approximately two weeks before the examination date.
