Following the declaration of the NIFT Final Result 2026 on June 3, 2026, the National Institute of Fashion Technology is expected to open its centralised e-counselling and seat allocation portal for UG and PG admissions in the last week of June 2026 at @nift.ac.in. All candidates who have secured a valid Common Merit Rank (CMR) in the final result are eligible to participate. The counselling will be conducted in three regular rounds followed by a Spot Round.
This is one of the most important next steps for over 25,000 design and fashion aspirants who took the NIFT 2026 entrance examination and awaited their final result.

Who Is Eligible to Participate in NIFT 2026 Counselling
- Candidates who have secured a valid Common Merit Rank (CMR) in the NIFT Final Result 2026
- Students taking their final qualifying examination in 2026 can participate provisionally but admission will be confirmed only after meeting all eligibility criteria at document verification
- Candidates who applied under the Artisan or Ward of Artisan category will undergo a separate counselling process — they must not participate in the online counselling meant for regular candidates

Documents to Keep Ready Before Counselling Registration
- Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets
- NIFT 2026 scorecard with CMR
- Category certificate (SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, PwD) if applicable
- Domicile or OCI or PIO certificate if applicable
- Passport-sized photographs and scanned signature
- Aadhar card or other valid government-issued photo ID
Candidates must ensure all documents are ready well before registration opens in the last week of June. Seat acceptance fees of approximately Rs 1,83,000 must be paid online only through the NIFT admission portal to confirm the allotment. Failure to pay within the stipulated deadline results in automatic cancellation of the allotted seat.
