NEW DELHI, 6 April 2024 – The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has commenced its Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for the year 2024 today. The NIOS public exams will be held from April 6 to May 22 across various exam centres in the country.
As per the schedule, students appearing for the NIOS Class 10 and Class 12 exams will have an additional 15 minutes of reading time, from 2:15 pm to 2:30 pm, before the start of the exam. The NIOS has made this decision to align its learners with their counterparts from other school education boards, ensuring equal academic opportunities and a more conducive examination environment.
“The objective behind this provision is to enable students to read the question paper thoroughly before attempting the exam, thereby reducing examination stress and enhancing their overall performance,” the NIOS said in a statement.
The NIOS Class 12 students will be appearing for subjects like Veda Adhyayan, Early Childhood Care and Education, Employability Skills, and Entrepreneurship. On the other hand, the NIOS Class 10 students will be taking the Sanskrit paper on the first day of the exams.
The NIOS board exams will be held from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, and students are required to carry their NIOS hall ticket and school ID for verification purposes.
The NIOS has assured that the results for Classes 10 and 12 will be announced within seven weeks of the conclusion of the exams. The NIOS mark-sheet-cum-certificate and migration-cum-transfer certificate will be issued to the qualifying students through their respective Accredited Institutions (AIs). In case of cancelled AIs, these documents will be sent to the student’s residential addresses, which are available with the NIOS.
Students and parents are advised to regularly check the official NIOS website, sdmis.nios.ac.in, for updates and further information regarding the NIOS Class 10 and Class 12 board exams 2024.
