Bhubaneswar, February 27, 2024: The Odisha Board of Secondary Education on Monday strongly dismissed allegations that the Mathematics question paper for ongoing Class 10 board exams was leaked. Earlier, purported images of the Maths paper circulated on social media within hours of the exam held on February 27th, triggering this controversy.

Addressing media, Board president Srikanth Tarai cleared the air afirming the examinations have been conducted in a completely fair manner so far. He appealed to the 5.5 lakh appearing students to continue writing the papers confidently without confusion over fake leaks. The English question paper was similarly alleged to have leaked on February 24th as per unverified social media claims.

Key Highlights

  • Odisha Class 10 board exams started on Feb 20, and will continue till March 4
  • Nearly 3,050 exam centres set up across the state
  • Alleged leaks of Mathematics (Feb 27) and English (Feb 24) papers surfaced
  • Board president denies any credence to allegations
  • Assures fair exam conduct, appeals to students to stay assured

With just over a week left for all papers completion, the Board aims to successfully wrap up the massive annual exercise. Ensuring systemic integrity and reliability is vital for generating credible outcomes. Hence investigating concerns around potential leaks is necessitated, although allegations seem unfounded currently.

By proactively addressing the apprehensions, the Board expects to preempt mass student anxiety and confusion. Confident cooperation from all stakeholders is required till the exams culminate smoothly without further disruptions. Students can meanwhile remain fully focused on their studies and test performance.
