The Staff Selection Commission has opened applications for the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026, one of the largest central government recruitment drives of the year. A total of 12,256 vacancies have been announced across 40 Group B and Group C posts in central government ministries, departments, and organisations. Applications are accepted online at ssc.gov.in from May 21 to June 22, 2026.
SSC CGL attracts over 25 lakh applicants every year and is the most competitive graduate-level government exam in India. Posts covered include Inspector of Income Tax, Inspector of Central Excise, Assistant Audit Officer, Statistical Investigator, Junior Statistical Officer, and many others.

Eligibility criteria:
- Educational qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university
- Age limit: 18 to 30 years (relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, PwD, Ex-Servicemen as per government norms)

SSC has advised all candidates to use Aadhaar-based authentication while completing the One-Time Registration process. The correction window from June 29 to July 1 allows two edits per application. Candidates who make errors in their form must use this window to correct them.
