New Delhi, March 19, 2024: The Tamil Nadu Medical Recruitment Board (TN MRB) has announced vacancies for various Assistant Surgeon (General) positions. Interested candidates can apply for TN MRB recruitment 2024 through the official website, mrb.tn.gov.in. The application window is set to open from April 24, 2024, and will remain active until May 15.

The Tamil Nadu Medical Services Recruitment Board (TN MRB) aims to fill a total of 2,553 vacancies for assistant surgeon positions in the department.

General category candidates: Rs 1,000
SC, SCA, ST, DAP(PH) category candidates: Rs 500
TN MRB Recruitment 2024: Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates should possess an MBBS degree from a recognized university or institute.
- They must have served as House Surgeon (CRRI) for a minimum of 12 months.
- Candidates need to be registered practitioners under the Madras Medical Registration Act, 1914 and should have registered their name in the Tamil Nadu Medical Council by the last date of this notification.
- The maximum age limit for candidates is 37 years as of July 1, 2024. However, there are relaxations in the upper age limit for reserved category candidates as per government norms:
- SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBC&DNCs, BCs, BCMs (including Ex-Servicemen belonging to these categories): 59 years
- Others: 37 years
- Differently abled candidates to others: 47 years
- Ex-Servicemen belonging to others: 50 years
Selection Process:
Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the Tamil Language Eligibility Test and a computer-based test.
