The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) completed the fourth and final phase of the SSC GD Constable 2026 Computer-Based Test (CBT) on May 30, 2026, bringing the recruitment examination cycle for 25,487 vacancies across CAPFs, SSF, and Assam Rifles to a close. The exam was held in four phases from April 27 to May 30, 2026.
Disruptions During the Exam Phase
The final phase was not entirely smooth. SSC cancelled examination sessions at multiple centres in Uttar Pradesh including Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Gorakhpur, and at Muzaffarpur in Bihar, due to technical glitches, server failures, overcrowding, and administrative issues. Earlier during Phase 1, three centres — AMS Institute (Kolkata), Santiniketan Polytechnic (Durgapur), and Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Polytechnic College, Moga (Punjab) — were also cancelled due to technical problems on April 27.
SSC has confirmed that a re-examination will be conducted for all candidates who were biometrically registered and present at cancelled centre sessions but could not appear. Fresh admit cards will be issued for those candidates. A formal re-test schedule is awaited from SSC at ssc.gov.in.
