The Karnataka Examinations Authority has issued an important directive under the KEA UGCET 2026 Revaluation Marks process, asking CBSE, CISCE, and other state-board students whose Class 12 scores changed after revaluation to physically submit their updated marks card at the KEA office in Bengaluru between July 4 and July 6. This comes at a critical juncture, since the counselling process itself is progressing on a tight schedule, with mock seat allotment due on July 6.
Why This Submission Matters
Under Karnataka’s admission system, board marks carry significant weight in determining a candidate’s final rank — making the KEA UGCET 2026 Revaluation Marks update a potentially rank-altering step for affected students. Key details to note:

- KEA has confirmed it will verify the revised marks submitted physically before considering them for rank calculation
- Only students whose Class 12 marks were actually revised after revaluation need to visit the KEA office within this window
- This follows an earlier phase where KEA had already asked CBSE/CISCE and other board students to update marks through DigiLocker integration, with manual entry not permitted at that stage
How the 50:50 Merit Formula Is Affected
The KCET 50:50 merit formula — which combines KCET exam marks with 2nd PUC (Class 12) board marks in equal proportion — means even a modest increase from revaluation can meaningfully shift a candidate’s rank. Under this system:
- Final Merit Score = (KCET PCM Percentage + Class 12 PCM Percentage) ÷ 2
- A candidate with higher board marks but a lower KCET score can outrank someone with the opposite combination, since both carry equal weight
- Since more than 3.09 lakh students appeared for KCET 2026 this year, even small rank movements from revised marks can affect a meaningful number of seat allotments down the line
What Comes Next in the Counselling Timeline
With this submission window closing on July 6 — the same day KEA releases the Round 1 mock seat allotment — candidates are advised not to delay, since marks submitted after the deadline may not be considered before the mock or final allotment. The modification window for candidates to add or rearrange preferences based on the mock result stays open until July 9, ahead of the actual Round 1 seat allotment scheduled for July 15. Students affected by the CBSE revaluation issue are strongly urged to carry both original and revised marks cards while visiting the KEA office to avoid processing delays.
