The Maharashtra State CET Cell has declared the MHT CET CAP Round 1 seat allotment result for admission to BE/B.Tech and integrated M.Tech programmes for the 2026-27 academic session. Candidates who completed CAP registration, document verification, and option form submission can check their allotted college and branch on the official counselling portal. The allotment has been prepared based on the final merit list, category-wise reservation, choices filled by candidates, and seat availability across participating institutes.
MHT CET CAP Round 1 Allotment: Key Numbers
The Round 1 allotment reflects a large-scale counselling exercise across the state:
- 2,19,417 candidates participated in Round 1 of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP)
- 1,57,103 candidates were allotted seats
- 16,615 candidates secured admission to their first-preference college
The result remains provisional at this stage; admission is confirmed only after successful document verification and fee payment at the allotted institute.

What to Do After Checking the Allotment Result
Candidates allotted a seat in MHT CET CAP Round 1 need to act within the schedule specified by the CET Cell to confirm their admission:
- Choose one of the available options: Freeze, Float, or Slide, based on satisfaction with the allotted seat
- Complete the online seat acceptance process and pay the requisite counselling fee
- Report to the allotted institute in person with original documents for verification within the reporting window
- Note that CAP seat allotment covers only academic admission; hostel accommodation is managed separately by individual institutes based on their own criteria
Candidates who are not satisfied with their Round 1 allotment can choose Float or Slide to remain eligible for upgradation in subsequent CAP rounds, while their current seat stays protected as a backup. Choosing Freeze, on the other hand, generally confirms the admission and exits the candidate from further counselling rounds.
Important Points to Remember
A few points are worth keeping in mind during the MHT CET CAP Round 1 process:
- Both MHT CET and JEE Main-qualified candidates in CAP counselling are considered together for seat allocation
- Cutoffs are published separately for the “MH” category (MHT CET scores) and “AI” category (JEE Main scores)
- Candidates cancelling an accepted seat must do so through the candidate login, followed by a formal application at the allotted college; fee refunds are subject to nominal processing charges
- Keep login credentials, application ID, and required documents ready, since verification and reporting timelines are typically short
