The exam is conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) and is accepted by more than 58 B-schools in India, including NMIMS Mumbai, SPJIMR, TAPMI, XIM University, and KJ Somaiya. Candidates aspiring to admission to these institutes for the 2027–29 MBA batch can now register, pay the fee, and book their preferred exam slot.
NMAT 2026 Registration: Key Dates
As per the official schedule published on mba.com, the registration and scheduling windows are as follows:
- Registration: August 20 to October 10, 2026
- Scheduling: August 20 to October 22, 2026
- Rescheduling: August 20 to December 17, 2026
- Exam delivery: November 2 to December 20, 2026
- Retake registration and scheduling: November 3 to December 17, 2026
Candidates can attempt NMAT up to three times within the testing window, with a minimum gap of 15 days required between attempts. Only the first attempt is considered for admission to the NMIMS Mumbai campus, though the best of the three scores is used for other participating institutes.
NMAT Registration 2026 Fees
The fee structure, as confirmed on the official portal, is uniform across all applicant categories:
- Test registration: Rs. 3,000 plus applicable taxes
- Retake: Rs. 3,000 plus applicable taxes per attempt
- Reschedule: Rs. 1,200 plus applicable taxes
- Additional score reports (beyond the first five): Rs. 400 per report plus applicable taxes
Payments can be made online via Visa, MasterCard, American Express, debit card, internet banking, or Diners Club.
How to Fill the NMAT Application Form and Book Your Slot
Candidates can complete registration and slot booking directly on mba.com by following these steps:
- Visit mba.com/exams/nmat and click “Create your NMAT Account” using a valid email address
- Verify the account through the confirmation email sent to the registered inbox
- Log in to the Candidate Dashboard and fill in personal, academic, and work experience details
- Select up to five B-schools to receive score reports (additional schools can be added later for a fee)
- Pay the registration fee online to complete the application
- Click “Book Exam Slot” on the dashboard, choose “At Test Centre” or online proctored mode, and select a preferred date, time, and city
Since slots are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis, candidates are advised to complete NMAT registration 2026 and scheduling early to secure their preferred test centre and date. Note that NMAT registration and individual B-school applications are separate processes — candidates must also apply directly to their target MBA programmes as per each institute’s own deadlines.
