Confusion prevails among 3.17 lakh candidates registered for the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) Combined Graduate Level Exam 2023 scheduled for February 4. This follows allegations of a paper leak during the January 28 CGL prelims exam.
The JSSC has sought reports from all 735 exam centers while the Jharkhand State Students Union (JSSU) demands postponing the February 4 main exam. A final call will be taken after reviewing the centers’ reports.

Exam Postponement Demand

The JSSU is protesting the alleged “scam” and has sought a CBI probe. It staged protests in Ranchi, Dhanbad, Bokaro and other cities on January 30, burning effigies of CM Hemant Soren and JSSC Chairman. JSSC Secretary Madhumita Kumari lodged an FIR against unidentified people.

JSSC Seeks Exam Center Reports

The JSSC has asked all 735 CGL prelims exam centers to confirm if the question paper packets were opened at the scheduled time of 2:45 PM on January 28. A decision on conducting the February 4 exam will be taken after analyzing these reports.
The admit cards have already been issued to candidates. However, the paper leak controversy has raised anxiety among aspirants.

Summary

Over 3 lakh candidates are awaiting clarity on whether the JSSC CGL main exam will be held as scheduled on February 4. The January 28 prelims exam allegedly suffered a paper leak. While the state students’ union demands postponing the exam, the JSSC has sought reports from 735 exam centers before deciding on the next steps. The final call is expected soon even as an FIR has been filed over the leak controversy.
