The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 session 1 on January 31, 2023. The shift 2 exam will be held from 3 PM to 6 PM. Shift 1 exams concluded at 12 PM.
Exam Pattern
The JEE Main paper 1 exam consists of 300 marks. It has 120 questions – Physics, Chemistry and Maths each have 30 questions in section A (compulsory) and 10 questions in section B (attempt any 5). The marking scheme is +4 for correct, -1 for incorrect.

As per initial student reactions, the JEE Main 2024 paper held on Jan 31 shift 1 was of moderate difficulty. Memory-based questions and unofficial answer keys will be made available soon.
Students should carry their admit card and ID proof to exam centers. COVID guidelines like masks and social distancing norms must be followed.

Analysis
Questions were mostly from NCERT syllabus of class 12. Good number of questions from Gravitation, Current Electricity, Chemical Kinetics etc. Some lengthy calculations required in Maths section. Overall, paper was of moderate difficulty level.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) commenced the JEE Main 2024 January 31 Shift 2 exam at 3 PM, following the moderately challenging Shift 1 earlier in the day. Various coaching institutes will soon release memory-based questions and unofficial answer keys. The exam consists of three sections – mathematics, physics, and chemistry – each with 30 questions. Of these, Section A has 20 mandatory questions, while Section B contains 10 questions, from which students must attempt 5 numerical questions.
