The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has expanded its digital education footprint with the launch of two new online certificate courses, alongside plans to introduce full-fledged undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in online mode. The UOH Online Courses initiative was rolled out through the university’s Centre for Digital Learning, Training & Resources (CDLTR) on 15 July 2026.
New Certificate Courses Launched Under UOH Online Courses Initiative
The two newly launched courses are “Samsadhani Praveshikka: Learning Sanskrit Using Computational Tools” and “Advanced Malariology: Biology of Parasitism and Drug Resistance.” Both were formally inaugurated by UoH Vice-Chancellor in-charge Prof. J. Anuradha. The courses were designed to bridge gaps between traditional classroom education and specialised scientific research, and successfully wrapped up their inaugural launch ceremony on campus, paving the way for further additions to the CDLTR course catalogue.

CDLTR Director Prof. Salman Abdul Moiz said the launch of these two courses marks only the beginning, with several more courses to be added by subject experts across disciplines. According to him, the broader goal of the UOH Online Courses push is to take the university’s academic expertise to learners across India and beyond, whether they are students, researchers, or working professionals.
UG and PG Online Programmes on the Horizon
In a significant announcement, Prof. Moiz confirmed that the university “will soon be launching online programmes at both the UG and PG level.” This marks a notable step for UoH, a central university traditionally known for its on-campus academic offerings, as it moves to formalise a broader online degree ecosystem alongside its existing certificate-course model.
SwayamPrabha and New Studio Infrastructure
During the same event, Prof. Vasuki Belavadi briefed faculty on SwayamPrabha, a bouquet of 40 DTH educational channels launched by the Ministry of Education, which are also freely accessible on YouTube. Faculty members were encouraged to use the platform to host their own courses. Separately, Prof. Anuradha inaugurated an additional video recording studio at CDLTR, aimed at strengthening the university’s in-house digital content production capacity for future online offerings.
