VIT Bhopal University successfully hosted the inaugural edition of the IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Electronics & Computational Systems (IECS 2026) on 17–18 July 2026, bringing together researchers, academicians, industry experts, and students from India and abroad. The conference focused on the latest advances in intelligent electronics, computational systems, and emerging technologies.
Conference Overview
The two-day event was organised by the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (SEEE) in association with the IEEE Student Branch, and was technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Madhya Pradesh Section. The inaugural session was attended by Prof. Rajeev Dixit, Vice Chairman of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis (AIGGPA), Bhopal, along with Prof. G.S. Tomar, Prof. M.P.S. Chawla, and Dr. Manish Dixit of the IEEE MP Section, and Dr. Jitendra Aggarwal from RGPV.
Research Papers And Technical Tracks
The conference received an overwhelming response from the global research community, with more than 2,300 research papers submitted through the IEEE Conference Management Toolkit (CMT). Following a rigorous peer-review process, 232 papers were selected for oral presentation across nine technical tracks, putting the acceptance rate at roughly 10 percent. Selected papers are expected to be submitted to IEEE Xplore, subject to IEEE’s approval and compliance requirements. The technical tracks spanned a wide spread of disciplines, including IoT, AI and machine learning, VLSI, power systems, electric vehicles, data science, sensors, robotics, and next-generation communication.

Key Sessions And Speakers
The conference featured a panel discussion titled “Building a Self-Reliant Semiconductor Ecosystem,” where experts from academia, government, and industry discussed India’s semiconductor manufacturing landscape, talent development, and policy priorities. Plenary sessions were delivered by Dr. Santosh Kumar Vishwakarma, Chief Scientific Officer at AIGGPA, Bhopal, while invited lectures were presented by Dr. Vivek Tiwari of ABV-IIITM Gwalior and Dr. Ambika P. Shah of IIT Jammu, offering participants insight into current research trends and technological developments.
