The AYUSH Counselling notification has not been officially released yet, but the Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) is expected to announce it soon, most likely in August 2026. The projection is based on the counselling calendars followed in previous admission cycles, since AACCC typically opens its process only after NEET UG results are declared.
AACCC, functioning under the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) under the Ministry of AYUSH, conducts centralised counselling for undergraduate AYUSH courses — BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS, and BNYS — across government, deemed, and national institutes.
Why the Notification Is Delayed
AACCC has not confirmed an exact schedule so far. Counselling for the 2026–27 academic session will be based on NEET UG scores, and the process traditionally begins only once results are finalised. With NEET UG results expected around late July 2026, several education portals project that the formal counselling bulletin, along with registration dates, will follow in the first half of August. A few estimates place the opening of registration as early as the first week of August 2026, though this remains unconfirmed until AACCC issues its official notice.
What the AYUSH Counselling Process Will Cover
Once released, the notification is expected to lay out the complete schedule, including registration, choice filling and locking, seat allotment, and reporting to allotted institutes. Candidates will register on the official portal, aaccc.gov.in, using their NEET UG roll number, application number, and other basic details. As per the standard AIQ structure, 15% of undergraduate seats fall under the All India Quota, with the remaining 85% allocated through respective state counselling authorities.
Expected Rounds and Seat Allotment
Based on prior cycles, this year’s counselling is likely to be conducted across three main rounds, followed by a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round depending on how many seats remain unfilled. Each round will require candidates to complete choice filling and locking within a fixed window, after which seat allotment will be based on NEET UG rank, seat availability, and candidate preference. Those who receive an offer must pay the requisite fee and report to their allotted institute within the deadline to confirm admission.
What Candidates Should Do Now
Until the official notification arrives, aspirants are advised to keep their NEET UG documents, category certificates, and domicile proofs ready, and to check aaccc.gov.in regularly for updates. Given how quickly registration windows tend to close once opened, early preparation can help candidates avoid last-minute document or payment issues.
Candidates should also review the eligibility criteria for AYUSH Counselling in advance, since NEET UG qualifying percentiles differ by category — typically the 50th percentile for General and EWS candidates and the 40th percentile for SC, ST, and OBC candidates.
State-quota aspirants should additionally track their respective state AYUSH counselling portals, as many states, including Uttar Pradesh, release their own schedules around the same period but through separate application processes. Keeping a checklist of required documents, including admit cards, mark sheets, and residence proof, will make the eventual registration process considerably smoother once the AACCC notice is out.
