The Indian Air Force has opened online applications for the Air Force Common Admission Test 2 for the year 2026. The AFCAT 2 2026 notification was released on May 20, announcing 379 vacancies for the courses commencing in July 2027. Candidates can apply online at afcat.cdac.in until June 19, 2026.
The recruitment is open for both male and female candidates for Flying Branch, Ground Duty Technical, and Ground Duty Non-Technical branches. For the Flying Branch, candidates must be between 20 to 24 years of age as on January 1, 2027. Candidates holding a valid Commercial Pilot License from DGCA get an age relaxation up to 26 years. For Ground Duty branches, the age limit is 20 to 26 years.
Candidates need a graduate degree from a recognized university. Engineering graduates can apply for Technical branches while graduates in any discipline are eligible for Non-Technical branches. All selected candidates will be granted Short Service Commission. It is mandatory that candidates be unmarried at the time of course commencement.
Defence aspirants should apply early to avoid last-minute server issues. The AFCAT exam is expected to be held later this year.
