The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) extended the last date for Class 12 students to apply for verification of marks and re-evaluation of answer sheets from June 6 midnight to June 7, 2026 midnight, citing the interest of students and the unprecedented demand seen since the portal went live. CBSE issued the extension notice via its official X handle @cbseindia29 on June 5, 2026. The move provides an additional 24 hours to the lakhs of students who were still in the process of reviewing their scanned answer books before applying for further services.
The extension is directly linked to the massive response the portal has seen since opening on June 2, 2026 at 7:00 AM. By June 4, CBSE had recorded 70,433 successful applications — comprising 7,314 requests for verification of marks and 63,119 applications for re-evaluation. This scale of response is unprecedented in CBSE’s history.
What Triggered the Extension
- Many students faced login delays and congestion on the portal due to the enormous traffic surge
- Multiple coordinated cyber attacks targeted the portal during its first days of operation
- Students continued reporting difficulty completing applications on time due to these disruptions
- CBSE stated that the extension was taken “in the interest of students” to provide greater flexibility and support

How to Apply Before June 7 Midnight
- Visit @cbse.gov.in and log in using credentials
- Complete Aadhaar-based authentication
- First obtain the scanned copy of the answer book (mandatory prerequisite)
- Apply for Verification of Issues in the scanned copy if pages are missing, blurred, or mismatched
- Apply for Re-Evaluation of specific questions where marking seems incorrect
- Once the Freeze and Proceed to Payment button is clicked, details are locked and cannot be edited
- Payment accepted via UPI, debit card, credit card, and net banking
Students who have not yet applied must act tonight. Applications received after June 7 midnight will not be entertained under any circumstances.
