Law aspirants are closely tracking whether the CLAT Notification will be released today, as the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has indicated an announcement is due around this time. As of now, the Consortium has not officially confirmed the release, so candidates are advised to keep checking the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in, for the confirmed notification PDF.
CLAT Notification: What to Expect
The Consortium typically issues the CLAT notification through a press release, followed by the detailed information brochure. Based on last year’s pattern, when the CLAT 2026 notification was released on 20 July 2025, this year’s announcement is expected around the same window. The Consortium has also formed a Committee of Independent Academic Experts, chaired by Justice Indu Malhotra, to recommend reforms to the UG and PG exam pattern and syllabus, so candidates should watch for possible structural changes once the notification is out.

CLAT 2027 Expected Important Dates

CLAT 2027 Application Fee and Eligibility
The CLAT application fee is expected to follow the category-wise structure used in previous years, and candidates should treat the exact figures as tentative until the notification confirms them. For eligibility, candidates who have passed or are appearing in the 10+2 examination can apply for CLAT UG, while those holding an LL.B. degree are eligible for CLAT PG. There is no upper age limit for either programme. This year, the seat-sharing pool has also expanded to 26 NLUs, with NLU Tripura and NLU Meghalaya joining the list.
CLAT 2027 Exam Pattern
The exam is conducted in offline mode, and the CLAT UG paper has traditionally featured 120 objective-type questions to be attempted in two hours across English Language, Current Affairs, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques. Given the ongoing review by the expert committee, some changes to the CLAT 2027 pattern are possible, and the confirmed structure will be detailed in the official notification.
