Delhi University has just handed thousands of postgraduate aspirants their next set of critical dates in this year’s Delhi University postgraduate admission cycle. The university released the detailed schedule for the DU CSAS PG 2026 Round 3 seat allocation process on Monday, covering everything from the upgrade window for already-admitted students to a fresh mid-entry opportunity for candidates who missed earlier deadlines entirely. With multiple overlapping windows opening over the coming days as part of the broader DU PG counselling process, this is a calendar every CUET PG 2026 qualified candidate needs pinned to their desktop right now.

The Bigger Picture — What This Announcement Covers

This is not a single-event update but a comprehensive roadmap for the next stage of postgraduate admissions. The University of Delhi on Monday released the schedule for the upgrade window, mid-entry, correction window, third round of seat allocation, and admissions under performance-based programmes, CW, Sports and Ward categories for postgraduate admissions under CSAS (PG) 2026-27.

This bundled release reflects how DU has structured its CSAS PG seat allotment process this year — rather than issuing piecemeal notifications, the university has laid out a complete sequence of dates so candidates at every stage of the process, whether already admitted or yet to apply, know exactly what’s coming next.

Step One — The Upgrade Window (Today and Tomorrow)

For candidates who have already secured admission in earlier rounds, the immediate priority is the upgrade window. According to the notification, the upgrade window will remain open from 10:00 AM on June 30 to 4:59 PM on July 1, allowing eligible candidates who have confirmed their admission in Round I or II to choose between the “Freeze” and “Upgrade” options.

It is important to understand who actually qualifies for this freeze-and-upgrade facility. As per the official notice, the upgrade option is available only to candidates who have already confirmed their admission by successfully paying the admission fee in either Round I or Round II and currently hold an allotted seat. However, this facility cannot be used by candidates who have already secured their first preference or have chosen the ‘freeze’ option.

In simple terms — if you’re satisfied with your current seat, you do nothing and stay put. If you’d prefer a better option, this 30-hour window is your chance to opt in to an upgrade before the DU CSAS PG 2026 Round 3 allocation begins.

Step Two — Mid-Entry and Correction Window (July 2 to 4)

This is the part of the schedule that opens the door wider for candidates who missed the bus earlier in the admission cycle. The university also announced that the mid-entry and correction window will be available from 10:00 AM on July 2 to 4:59 PM on July 4.

The mid-entry window will allow candidates who either did not apply for CSAS (PG) 2026 earlier or were unable to complete their application process to participate in the admission process. To avail of this facility, candidates will have to pay a non-refundable Mid-Entry fee of Rs 1,000.

For candidates already in the system, this window also serves a second purpose. Already registered candidates will also be able to make corrections to selected fields, including eligibility conditions. However, there’s an important restriction worth flagging — the university has specified that the category can be changed only once, and candidates who have already availed themselves of this option will not be permitted to modify it again.

Step Three — DU CSAS PG 2026 Round 3 Allocation Goes Live on July 6

Here’s the date everyone is really waiting for. The third round of CSAS (PG) seat allocation, along with Round 1 of performance-based programmes (MFA, MA Music, B.P.Ed. and M.P.Ed.), will be declared on July 6, while the CW, Sports and Ward supernumerary quota allocations will be announced on July 7.

This means DU CSAS PG 2026 Round 3 results will arrive just two days after the mid-entry and correction window closes, giving the university minimal turnaround time to process the latest batch of applications and corrections before generating fresh allotments under the CW Sports Ward quota and general categories alike.

The Final Stretch — Acceptance, Verification and Fee Payment

Once the DU CSAS PG 2026 Round 3 allocation list is out, candidates face a tight sequence of deadlines to actually confirm their seat. Candidates can accept their allotted seats until 4:59 PM on July 9, departments and colleges will verify applications until July 10 and the last date for online fee payment is July 11, the notification stated.

This three-day acceptance-verification-payment cycle, with the fee payment deadline firmly set for July 11, leaves little room for delay. Candidates allotted seats in this round must move quickly through each stage to avoid losing their admission opportunity.

How to Navigate the Correction Window — Step-by-Step

Candidates wishing to use the correction facility during this period can follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official DU admission portal at admission.uod.ac.in
  2. Log in using your registered CSAS (PG) credentials
  3. Navigate to the application correction section
  4. Update eligible fields, including eligibility-related corrections, as permitted under this window
  5. If applicable, use the one-time category change option with caution, since it cannot be repeated
  6. Submit and save your updated application before the 4:59 PM, July 4 deadline

More Rounds May Follow

Importantly, DU CSAS PG 2026 Round 3 is not necessarily the final stop in this year’s admission cycle. The university added that additional rounds of allocation may be announced depending on the availability of vacant seats. This gives eligible candidates who remain unallotted after Round 3 a continued opportunity to secure admission, should vacancies persist across departments and colleges.

A Reminder on Eligibility Before You Apply

For candidates considering the mid-entry route, it’s worth revisiting the foundational eligibility rule governing all Delhi University postgraduate admission this year. For the academic year 2026–27, admission to all PG Programs of UoD will be conducted solely based on the Common University Entrance Test – Postgraduate 2026 (CUET (PG) – 2026). Admission through UoD’s online platform, Common Seat Allocation System (PG) – 2026, is mandatory for all Colleges of the University of Delhi.

If a candidate applies through CSAS (PG) – 2026 but does not fulfill the eligibility criteria and/or has not appeared in CUET (PG) as required for the respective Program, the candidature will not be considered.
