The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), through its National Centre for Innovations in Distance Education (NCIDE) and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), has officially launched the IGNOU Startup Competition 2026. Designed to cultivate an ecosystem of innovation and self-reliance aligned with Atmanirbhar Bharat, the initiative provides a national platform to foster promising entrepreneurial ventures. Eligible participants from across the university’s vast network are encouraged to submit their innovative business models before the stipulated submission deadline.
The IGNOU Startup Competition is open to both currently enrolled learners and university alumni who have launched a venture or are in the advanced stages of developing an innovative product or service.

Stages of Selection and Pitching Process
The IGNOU Startup Competition will be evaluated across two distinct phases to systematically identify top talent:
-
Round 1 (Initial Screening): All applicants must register and submit their venture profiles using the official online Google Form. An expert committee will evaluate these initial entries based on innovation, commercial viability, and social or economic impact.
-
Round 2 (Pitching Session): Candidates shortlisted from the first round will be provided with a standardized presentation template. They will pitch their startup models directly before an expert panel during a dedicated Demo Day/Pitching session.
