NEW DELHI, February 7, 2024 – The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Kanpur recently hosted its pioneering national research scholars’ conference, ‘Anviksha’, turning a new leaf in academic discourse. The two-day event, centered around the theme ‘Boundaries’, showcased a vibrant exchange of ideas across 12 critical themes, including gender, conflict, and urbanisation.

- Submissions Galore: Over 500 entries were received, with 48 abstracts making it to the final round after a rigorous peer review.
- Diverse Themes: Panels covered gender issues, digital advancements, urban challenges, and more, reflecting the event’s wide-ranging focus.

- Engagement: Ipshita Chanda of EFLU Hyderabad underscored the importance of engaging with plurality in humanities.
- Sociological Perspectives: Janaki Abraham from the Delhi School of Economics provided a fresh take on wedding rituals, challenging traditional norms.
