With the NEET UG 2026 re-examination confirmed for June 21, 2026, the complete MBBS and BDS admission cycle for 2026 to 27 has been pushed to a compressed timeline running from August through November 2026. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) will conduct the All India Quota counselling at @mcc.nic.in, expected to begin approximately two to three weeks after the NEET UG 2026 result is declared in late July 2026.
This is a critical update for approximately 22 lakh medical aspirants who will compete for over 1,00,000 MBBS and BDS seats across government, private, deemed, and central universities in India. Missing any deadline in this process can mean losing a seat permanently for the current year.

How the MBBS Admission Process Works: Two Parallel Tracks
All qualified NEET candidates must participate in two independent admission tracks simultaneously:
| Track | Conducted By | Seats Covered | Portal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Track 1: MCC AIQ Counselling | MCC DGHS | 15% All India Quota + all Deemed and Central University seats | mcc.nic.in |
| Track 2: State Quota Counselling | Respective State DME Authorities | 85% State Quota seats in government and private colleges | State-specific portals |
Both tracks must be registered for separately. Registering for one does not cover the other.
