The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) has released the official NMAT registration 2026 schedule on its portal, mba.com/exams/nmat. Candidates can apply from 20 August 2026, with the application window closing on 10 October 2026.
NMAT by GMAC is a national-level, computer-adaptive MBA entrance exam accepted by over 58 B-schools in India, including NMIMS Mumbai, SPJIMR, TAPMI, XIM University, and KJ Somaiya. Unlike CAT or XAT, NMAT lets candidates pick their own exam date, time slot, and test centre within a defined scheduling window.

Since NMAT operates on a first-come, first-served scheduling basis, registering early gives candidates a better chance at securing their preferred date, time, and test centre before slots fill up.
NMAT 2026 Application Fee
The NMAT registration 2026 fee is Rs 3,000 plus applicable taxes for the initial attempt, and the same amount applies for each retake within the testing window. Candidates can select up to five B-schools at no extra cost during registration; each additional school beyond that costs Rs 400 plus taxes.
A rescheduling fee of Rs 1,200 plus taxes applies if candidates wish to change their chosen exam date, and this must be done at least 72 hours before the original slot. All fees are non-refundable and uniform across categories, with no waiver or concession structure.
Eligibility and How to Apply
Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university for NMAT registration 2026. Final-year students awaiting results can also register, subject to submitting proof of graduation later. There is no minimum percentage cutoff mandated by GMAC itself, though individual B-schools may set their own academic requirements.
To complete the NMAT registration 2026 process, candidates must create an account on the official NMAT by GMAC website, enter personal, academic, and communication details, upload a recent photograph and signature, select preferred B-schools, and pay the fee online via credit card, debit card, net banking, or Diners Club. After payment, candidates can immediately proceed to schedule their preferred exam date and test centre.
Exam Pattern at a Glance
NMAT consists of 108 questions across three sections — Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning — to be completed in 120 minutes. The test uses adaptive scaled scoring from 36 to 360, carries no negative marking, and allows candidates to choose their own section order. Scores are available within 48 hours of taking the exam, and the best of up to three attempts is considered for admission.
