The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has opened the online application window for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2026, announcing 12,256 vacancies for Group B and Group C posts across central government ministries, departments, and offices. The application process began on May 21, 2026, and the last date to apply online is June 22, 2026, up to 11:00 PM at ssc.gov.in.
This is one of the largest central government graduate-level recruitment drives of the year. Posts available include Income Tax Inspector, Excise Inspector, Assistant Audit Officer (AAO), Junior Statistical Officer (JSO), Statistical Investigator, and several administrative positions across 40 different categories under Group B and Group C.

SSC CGL 2026 Selection Process
The selection consists of two stages — Tier 1 and Tier 2, both conducted as computer-based examinations. Tier 1 serves as a qualifying stage. The final merit list will be prepared entirely on the basis of marks obtained in the Tier 2 examination. Candidates will also be allowed to make corrections during the window from June 29 to July 1, 2026, with a maximum of two corrections permitted per application.
