The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the launch of the Class 12 revaluation and verification portal to June 1, 2026, from its originally scheduled date of May 29. The board issued an official statement confirming the delay, stating it is intended to ensure a transparent and technically sound process for all applicants before the portal goes live.
Following the recent On-Screen Marking (OSM) controversy, where a student publicly alleged that the wrong Physics answer sheet was uploaded under his roll number, CBSE has taken additional precautionary steps to strengthen the technical infrastructure of the portal. The board received considerable public scrutiny over evaluation errors, portal crashes, and payment glitches in the weeks following the Class 12 result declaration. Over 4 lakh students have already applied for scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets, and the board expects very high traffic once the portal opens.
CBSE Class 12 Revaluation 2026: Fee Structure
- Verification of marks: Rs 100 per subject
- Revaluation of specific answers: Rs 25 per question
- Fee refund policy: Amount will be refunded if marks increase after review
- Payment mode: Net banking, debit card, or credit card
Major Reform: Digilocker Integration for Answer Sheets
In a significant policy reform, CBSE has announced that from the next academic year, scanned copies of evaluated answer sheets will be made available directly on Digilocker, alongside official marksheets. This decision follows sustained public demand for greater transparency in the board examination evaluation process.
Updated marksheets issued after revaluation on Digilocker will be legally valid for all admission and counselling processes including Delhi University, JoSAA, and CUET.
