UP NEET UG 2026 reporting: Candidates allotted seats in Round 1 of UP NEET UG Counselling 2026 must begin reporting to their allotted colleges starting today, September 8, with the window remaining open till September 14. The counselling process is being conducted by the Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in government and private medical and dental colleges across the state.

How We Got Here: Round 1 Timeline

The Round 1 seat allotment result was declared on September 7, a day after choice locking closed on September 5. This followed the release of the UP NEET merit list, prepared for 31,653 candidates, and a seat matrix covering vacant MBBS and BDS seats across government, private, and minority colleges in the state.

This year’s counselling cycle ran later than usual because NTA conducted a re-test of NEET UG 2026 on June 21, after the originally scheduled May 3 exam was cancelled over paper-leak allegations — compressing the national counselling calendar for all states, including Uttar Pradesh.

What Candidates Need to Do Today

Candidates allotted a seat should:

  1. Download their provisional seat allotment letter from upneet.gov.in
  2. Report in person to the allotted college within the September 8–14 window
  3. Carry all required original documents along with photocopies for verification
  4. Complete the admission formalities and fee payment as specified by the college

Candidates allotted seats in private medical colleges should check their allotment letter carefully, as admission for private-college allottees is typically completed at a designated nodal centre, not necessarily at the college campus itself.

Documents Required for Reporting

Candidates are generally required to carry:

  • UP NEET UG 2026 seat allotment letter
  • NEET UG 2026 admit card and scorecard
  • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and certificates
  • Valid photo ID (Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, or driving licence)
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Domicile certificate (if applicable)
  • Category/caste certificate (if applying under reservation)

Candidates should confirm the exact document checklist against their specific allotment letter, as requirements can vary slightly by college and category.

What Happens If You Miss the Reporting Window

Candidates who fail to report within the specified window risk losing their allotted seat, which would then be considered vacant for subsequent counselling rounds. Given the tight, compressed timeline this year, candidates are strongly advised not to delay reporting until the last day.

What’s Next After Round 1

Once Round 1 admissions are completed, the counselling process typically moves to subsequent rounds — including Round 2 and a mop-up round — to fill any seats that remain vacant after Round 1. In previous cycles, DGME UP has conducted up to five counselling rounds, including a final mop-up round, to complete seat allocation for the academic session.
