The Central Board of Secondary Education has declared the CBSE Class 12 result 2026. According to official data, the overall pass percentage has dropped to 85.20 percent this year, down by 3.19 percentage points from 88.39 percent recorded in 2025. Girls have outperformed boys by a margin of 6.73 percent.
Students can check their results online at cbseresults.nic.in and cbse.gov.in by entering their roll number, school number, and admit card ID. Results are also available through DigiLocker and the UMANG app. The board conducted the Class 12 exams between February 17 and April 10, 2026.
The result has triggered a major controversy around the CBSE On-Screen Marking system. Several students reported receiving unexpectedly low marks, and concerns have been raised about blurred scanned answer scripts, inconsistencies in evaluation, and technical glitches on the revaluation portal. A Rajya Sabha MP has also written to the Union Education Minister seeking intervention on the matter.
In response, the CBSE has reduced the revaluation fee from Rs 100 to Rs 25 and launched a helpline for students with queries. The revaluation portal is now live at cbse.gov.in. Students who are unhappy with their marks can apply for answer sheet photocopy and then file for re-evaluation.
Important Update: CBSE Class 12 result 2026 declared. Pass percentage is 85.20%. Revaluation fee reduced to Rs 25. Revaluation portal is live at cbse.gov.in.
