The National Testing Agency has confirmed that the NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be held on June 21, 2026, in pen-and-paper mode from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. The re-exam was announced after the cancellation of the original May 3 test following a nationwide question paper leak controversy.
The NTA closed the correction window on May 21, allowing candidates to update their residential address, preferred exam city, and communication details. No changes to the medium of examination or other core details were permitted. The NTA has confirmed that no additional fee will be charged for appearing in the re-examination.
The revised admit cards for Re-NEET 2026 are expected to be released approximately one week before the exam date. Students are advised to regularly check neet.nta.nic.in for updates. Meanwhile, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has stated that NEET is expected to move towards a Computer-Based Test format in the coming years.
Over 22 lakh medical aspirants are affected by the cancellation. Students should use the remaining weeks to revise thoroughly and focus on high-weightage topics from Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
