NIT Agartala has declared the CCMT Special Round seat allotment result on the official portal, Candidates who registered for the special round of the Centralised Counselling for M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan (CCMT) admissions can now log in using their GATE credentials to check their allotted institute, branch, and category. The special round was conducted against tentative vacancies across participating NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, with the conducting authority noting that additional seats may open up further due to upgradation among earlier allottees.
CCMT Special Round: Key Details
The CCMT Special Round counselling is meant for candidates who could not secure a seat in the regular rounds, or who wish to move to a better branch or institute based on their GATE score. Admission through CCMT covers postgraduate programmes such as M.Tech, M.Arch, and M.Plan at NITs, IIEST Shibpur, and select IIITs and CFTIs across the country.

Seat allotment in this round is based on the candidate’s GATE rank, the choices submitted during registration, and seat availability, including any additional vacancies created after candidates from earlier rounds upgraded to different options.
Steps to Check Seat Allotment Result
Candidates can follow these steps to view and download their special round allotment letter:
- Visit the official website, ccmt.admissions.nic.in.
- Click on the candidate login section on the homepage.
- Enter the GATE registration ID, password, and security pin.
- View the allotted institute, branch, and category on screen.
- Download and save the provisional seat allotment letter for reference.
Candidates are advised to cross-check all details on the letter, including their name, category, and allotted programme, immediately after downloading it.
Seat Acceptance and Document Verification
Candidates who have been allotted a seat in this round must indicate their willingness, whether to freeze, float, or slide, and complete online document verification within the timeline specified in the CCMT counselling schedule. A seat acceptance fee of Rs 30,000 must be paid to confirm the admission, which can be done through net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.
Failure to pay this fee within the stipulated window will result in automatic cancellation of the allotted seat, and the candidate will not be considered for any subsequent round. Institutes will conduct verification of uploaded documents online, and candidates whose queries remain unresolved within the given period risk having their allotment cancelled as well, so prompt action at this stage is important.
