Registration for this round closes at 11 PM, while the choice filling window remains open until 11:59 PM the same day. Candidates who wish to participate must log in, pay the counselling fee, and lock in their preferred courses and colleges before the deadline.
IPU BTech Round 3: Key Dates
The IPU BTech Round 3 counselling process, also referred to as the sliding round, allows candidates to register and update their preferences online at ipu.admissions.nic.in. Unlike Round 1 and Round 2, which had separate windows for registration and preference submission, this round compresses both steps into a single day, making it especially time-sensitive. With registration closing at 11 PM and choice filling extending only about an hour further, candidates are advised not to wait until the last few minutes to avoid last-moment technical glitches or payment failures.
Steps to Register and Fill Choices
Candidates can follow these steps to complete their Round 3 registration:
- Visit the official portal, ipu.admissions.nic.in, and click on the login page.
- Log in using the registered User ID and password.
- Pay the required counselling fee through net banking, credit card, or debit card.
- Update personal and academic details as prompted.
- Upload all required documents in the specified format.
- Fill in course and college choices strictly in order of preference.
Candidates are encouraged to select the maximum possible number of choices, since a longer preference list improves the chances of seat allotment in this round.
How Seat Allotment Works
Once choice filling closes, seat allotment for this round will be carried out based on each candidate’s rank, category, and the preferences submitted, matched against seat availability across participating colleges. Admission to BTech programmes at GGSIPU-affiliated institutes is based on JEE Main scores, with counselling conducted separately by the university.
Since this is a sliding round, candidates who already hold an allotted seat from an earlier round may also use this opportunity to move to a higher preference, provided seats are available. Candidates should note that improving their preference through sliding does carry some risk, since a candidate who slides to a new option gives up their previously allotted seat and is bound by whatever outcome this round produces.
