The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the postponement of the CUET UG 2026 examination scheduled for May 28, 2026, citing the government’s announcement of the revised date for Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) holiday. The decision affects all candidates registered for both morning and afternoon shifts on that date.
Following a Government of India notification regarding the change in the scheduled date of Id-ul-Zuha, NTA took the decision to reschedule the May 28 examination in deference to the national holiday and recognizing significant student and family participation in the festival. Both examination shifts originally allocated for May 28, 2026, are now officially postponed.
NTA has not yet announced the revised examination date for affected candidates as of May 25, 2026. Students are directed to monitor official channels at cuet.nta.nic.in for the updated examination schedule. The National Testing Agency (NTA) emphasized that the May 11 through May 27 examination window remains operational, with regular examination dates continuing unaffected by this specific postponement.
CUET UG 2026 remains underway as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) across multiple examination centres nationwide. Over 15.68 lakh registered candidates are appearing in this extended May 11-31 window. The examination provides admission to undergraduate programmes at 270 plus universities including Delhi University, JNU, BHU, and AMU, with results expected in June 2026.
