The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has officially declared the results of the ICSE Improvement Examination for Class 10 students, with 5,321 candidates across the country now able to check their revised scores on the official portal. The result was announced on 21 July 2026, and students can view their marks through results.cisce.org using their roll number and the captcha code shown on the login page. Digital marksheets on DigiLocker will be made available from 24 July 2026, giving candidates an additional way to access their official documents.
Exam Snapshot: Who Appeared and What Was Tested
The ICSE Improvement Examination 2026 was conducted between 15 June and 30 June 2026 at 341 examination centres across the country. According to CISCE data, the exam recorded 13,032 paper-wise entries spread across 37 subjects and papers, with evaluation carried out at 43 centres by 185 examiners. This exam gives Class 10 students a chance to raise their marks in specific subjects after their main board result, rather than repeating the entire academic year.
How Marks Will Be Calculated for Improvement Candidates
CISCE has clarified an important rule for anyone who appeared in the improvement exam: for every subject or paper attempted, the council will take the higher of the two scores — the mark obtained in the original main examination and the one secured in the improvement paper. This means students only stand to gain, since a lower improvement score will simply be disregarded in favour of the original mark. The final ICSE Improvement Result will reflect whichever result works in the student’s favour, subject by subject.
Steps to Check the ICSE Improvement Result Online
Candidates can follow this process to view and save their ICSE Improvement Result:
- Visit the official CISCE website at cisce.org or results.cisce.org.
- Click on the “Result” link on the homepage.
- Select the option for ICSE Class 10 Improvement Examination.
- Enter your roll number and the captcha code displayed on screen.
- Submit the details to view the result on screen.
- Download the page and keep a printout for school and record purposes.
While the result is now visible online, it remains provisional until the physical marksheet is issued. Students should note that the online scorecard should be preserved carefully, and digital copies via DigiLocker will be accessible from 24 July. Schools have separately been given access to tabulation registers and candidate-wise reports through the CISCE careers portal, allowing them to guide students on next steps for admissions.
